NOTE: Actual photographic print negatives and slides are designated with an "O"
and although untagged ones lurk descretely in scattered folders throughout this site,
it's a good idea to enter a second choice on the list, if you see one. If you have your heart set
on one print only, feel free to email evanescent with the name of the image,
to check availability. Click for more insight on how to tell these images apart, as many
have handy codes embedded in the names. For instance, (O) means it's an original scan.
Also note that electronic image research and/or Verification may take up to two weeks, so be patient.

If a high resolution digital file slips from your GRASP, you
are LIABLE + responsible for its behavior in the world at large. It has been licensed for your use alone.
You may use it as you wish, but be advised you are not receiving a model release with any image,
for all images are marketed as INFORMATION, where recognizable people in them may have specific rights
you might be in violation of, if you plan on using your purchase to incite a major ad campaign.
These are sold as open-ended journalism, thus you should be aware of your liablity concerns.

compared to all commercial stock photography companies.

You may alter the files you purchase, but here's the tricky part ...you may do so
UNLESS you think you'd be angry, if a stranger did it to you. These are not models. They are real people,
in their real moments. Almost every single shot in Evanescent is uncontrolled and un-posed. You must respect
the dignity of the people who have shown themselves, and if you need to push that limit, render them
in soft focus, or alter their faces, or distinguishing marks somehow. These are not callous
subjects who expect rough treatment. Portraits that have no such limits,
will be designated so when you receive them.
Files are all dispensed in 12+ JPEG digital format,
which fits a 12-45 megabyte scan into a more downloadable package.
All on line, or mailed images are sent at maximum resolution. If any image you purchased
is for some reason unavailable, we will immediately contact you, credit you, or refund your money.
Reseller Program:
We harbor high quality images for use, and are open to the same in turn.
If you think you will be altering the image you purchased for use, opt to receive it in uncompressed,
original TIFF, RAW, or Photoshop format, if you agree to send us the striking versions you created.
If we like your transformations, we will add them to our database, and any subsequent sales they inspire
will yield you a tasty 40%. Your name will be permanently associated with that image,
as creative editor, though root and subsequent copyrights remains with the photographer.
Likewise, we'll be adding sections with specific artists'
works.
